DJINN AND DISAPPOINTMENT
Bought
myself
a lamp, and
Alladin-like,
rubbed its dull bits bright.
Blue smoke! A djinn writhed out!
He bowed, spoke . . . "What's Madam's wish?"
Fast thinker, me! I said "Banish
Dreaded Caddoc to Llandudno, please"
Whoosh! Shed and husband vanished . . . then I woke.

(Followers and commenters can see husband Caddoc down in the right side-bar)

  1. Mrs T,
So much more to the point than mine - but be careful what you dream about!

  2. Yo,
    Ada !
    Wish you were
    here by my side.
    Llandudno is great,
    but goodness only knows
how I came to be in it?
I may decide to stay a while,
as complete freedom is new to me
and I could enjoy the experience...

  3. Hope you are happy with what your djinn did! You can always make him undo it :) Here's my Magpie, Blue Genie.

  5. Tell me, Mrs T, do you find Brasso or Duraglit best for buffing up dull bits? I could do with adding some more sparkle to my life, as I have some brass bells that are looking worse for wear...
Had you thought about hiring your Djinn out to the public for a small fee? I could be interested, if the price was right.

  6. But the lamp was still suspiciously clean.

  7. spacedlaw should scan across to the legend under Mrs.Trellis's picture! I can easily imagine that Mrs.Trellis never thinks anything is really clean.

  10. Sheds are great refuges for husbands from virago wives: you stay where you are Caddoc. Is Llandudno far enough away, Ada?

  12. Is Blogland really the best arena for airing marital discord? These people need our sympathy and support. Ada is a sad, neglected Shed Widow and Closet Poet, and I suspect that inside crumpled Caddoc there "beats a heart as big as all outdoors"

  13. Wow. Love and Light, Sender

  14. What discord Doc? Only a happy person can impersonate a dragon so charmingly, and only another happy person can allow the deeply 'shopped' portraits of himself and his love to be published so widely.

  15. I just noticed my strangely elevated position in the points list, Ida, you don't look like someone who rewards sickofancy, so I hope you will not punish my silly comment above...

    Take care, Bob

I try and I try to leave a comment - but I am not on my home computer. Ada, you have offended me by not recognising my posts! I'm now in a sulk.
